Accommodation

Bed and Breakfast accommodation has been reserved at the conference venue hotel, NH The Lord Charles, for those delegates who wish to stay at the conference venue hotel for the duration of the conference (3 nights), and for pre-conference course participants (1 night).  No deductions  will be allowed for late arrival and early departure.

If you wish to stay at the venue hotel, please book accommodation using the conference registration form below, and not directly with the hotel – you will not enjoy the benefit of the special rates we have negotiated, and in addition will prevent the conference organisers from maintaining control of the booking process. Please book early, batches of rooms will be released at regular intervals to the hotel before the conference.

For bed and breakfast accommodation elsewhere in Somerset West please make contact with the Secretariat.

For student accommodation enquiries can be made to the Secretariat.

Travel and Transport

NH The Lord Charles Hotel is situated approximately 45 kilometres east of Cape Town International Airport, just off the N2 in Somerset West. Please click map for directions.

A shuttle service from the airport is available at R200 per occupant for a return trip. If you would like the conference secretariat to book the service on your behalf, please select that option on the registration form.

Pre-conference Course - 15 November 2009

Environmental isotopes have proved their usefulness as components of many groundwater investigations worldwide. This one day course will deal with the basics of the radioactive isotopes 14C and tritium, the stable isotopes of hydrogen, oxygen, carbon and nitrogen and the tracers CFC and SF6. The full use of these techniques is often limited when applying these principles to local circumstances. Local case studies of such applications will be presented.

The course will only proceed with a minimum of 15 participants. Course fees include lunch and refreshment breaks and course materials, but not accommodation, which has been reserved at the Lord Charles for participants wishing to stay over on Sat 14 November 2009.  We will notify participants and refund the course fee if the course will not be held.

Student Scholarships

A limited number of student scholarships will be available to full-time students.  Enquiries can be made to the Conference Secretariat.

Exhibition and Advertising Opportunities

Please use the exhibition and advertisement booking forms to book exhibition space (and shell schemes) and advertisements.
